CONNECTION KIDS

A note from Pastor Darren about children in worship:

At Connection UMC we believe children are not the future of the church.  They are the church.  Jesus welcomes them, and all of us, short attention spans, tantrums, laughter, tears, movement, noise, enthusiastic singing and all.  Church, at its heart, is about us gathering together to worship God and the risen Christ, and quite frankly, when I think of it that way, why are any of us quiet about it?

People were bringing children to Jesus so that he would bless them.  But the disciples scolded them.  When Jesus saw this, he grew angry and said to  them, "Allow the children to come to me.  Don't forbid them, because God's kingdom belongs to people like these children.  I assure you that whoever doesn't welcome God's kingdom like a child will never enter it.  Then he hugged the children and blessed them.  Mark 10:13-16

SAFETY

Your children are precious, and we want to keep them safe!

We as a church use Safe Sanctuaries, a United Methodist policy that aims to protect children, youth, and vulnerable adults participating in ministry as well as those who serve in ministry in these populations. As a part of this policy, every volunteer is screened with a background check.
